How A Night At The Tables Runs

Hand of euchre being played at a felt table

Doors open at 4pm and the house dealer starts seating tables as players arrive, mixing regulars with anyone new to the room.

Five hundred fills the busiest tables most nights, with a euchre table running alongside for players who prefer a shorter hand.

Crib and bridge run on request, and the dealer will happily hold a table for a group that calls ahead.

Table fee

A small fee at the door buys a chip stack for the night.

New to cards

The house dealer will talk any newcomer through the rules.

Scoring

Kept on paper at the table, checked by the dealer at the end.

About the games

What People Ask At The Tables

Which game fills the most tables?

Five hundred, most Thursdays and Fridays, by a clear margin.

Can a game be learned on the night?

Yes — the house dealer will walk anyone through crib or euchre before the first hand.

Is bridge always running?

Only by request; call ahead so a table can be kept aside for a full four.

Is there a tournament?

A crib knockout runs on Saturdays, with the house dealer keeping score throughout.
